Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp agrees deal for first January transfer
By Bence Bocsak
It’s taken some time. We are deep into January now, but it seems like at last. Finally. Liverpool have made a signing. Or rather they are on the brink of completing it.
It’s hardly the name the Reds supporters have been calling for. Nope it’s not a centre-back to fulfil all our desires and wishes so we can sigh a breathe of relief once again.
However when it comes to the future of the club it could be a monumental transfer.

Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp are on a mission.
According to The Athletic Liverpool have agreed a fee for Derby County’s 16 year old starlet Kai Gordon.
The youngster is believed to be the ‘best 16 year old in the country’ and is extremely highly rated by Derby County’s academy.
Already an U16 international, Kai Gordon has already made his debut in the Championship under Wayne Rooney’s managerial reign.
The Reds beat their arch rivals Manchester United to the signing, highlighting just how transformative this signing could be.
Having already acquired the attacking prowess of players like Harvey Elliott and Mateusz Musialkowski in season’s past, Kai Gordon could be the latest name to add to that list.
On top of that the Reds are also linked with moves for Zion Atta and Brazilian superstar Kayky.
It is a clear strategical move. The Reds want to snap up some of the best talent in the world.
Of course it is unlikely fans will see Kai Gordon in the first team any time soon. He is still very young, however if he fulfils his promise at the Reds’ new training ground and catches the eye in the academy, Klopp has shown he is not afraid of giving youngsters an opportunity.
A young English arrival from a lower league club has paid dividends in the past. Harvey Elliott is a great example. But Raheem Sterling was also brought in from Queens Park Rangers.
The Reds scouting and board always have a carefully thought out plan for these players and one will hope it is the same for Kai Gordon.
