Liverpool could be willing to sell Takumi Minamino in the summer – and Sevilla are prepared to meet their asking price.
If we thought sporting director Michael Edwards had the cheat codes for the transfer market, Sevilla’s man Monchi is up there as one of the savviest operators on the planet.
He may have failed in Rome but he’s been back to his best in La Liga, and Monchi may have spotted another bargain to be had.
Liverpool could sell Takumi Minamino
Just as Edwards moved quickly to sign Minamino from RB Salzburg, Sevilla are willing to pay what Liverpool have demanded in order to sell the Japanese international.
Spanish publication Fichajes has reported that Sevilla will pay the €10 million it’ll take to persuade the Reds to sell their on-loan striker.
Julen Lopetegui isn’t put off by his lack of success in the Premier League so far. His performances in the Champions League for Salzburg alerted a number of clubs to his ability, including Liverpool, and Monchi feels like he can get Minamino back to his original level.

Taki is currently on loan with Southampton and has already scored for the Saints. It feels like a very smart move because manager Ralph Hasenhüttl plays in a similar style to Klopp and can help Minamino get up to speed.
Jurgen Klopp has a decision to make
The club now has a decision to make. Should Minamino use his Southampton loan as a springboard, we could still see him have a decent career on Merseyside.
Divock Origi could be sold in the summer, he’s certainly not impressed during this campaign, and if he’s moved on Liverpool will need another forward in the squad. This is where Minamino could come into his own.
There’s still a lot of ‘what ifs’ moving forward, and it’ll be really interesting to see what happens with this move in the future.
