Liverpool transfer targets Hakim Ziyech and Steven Bergwijn have shown their worth over a massive Eredivisie weekend.
Ziyech was instrumental as Ajax beat SC Heerenveen 4-0, while Bergwijn played 90 minutes and clocked up an assist in PSV Eindhoven’s 6-0 demolition job over FC Emmen.
Both playmakers have both been linked with Anfield moves, and the pair helped their teams to huge league wins on Saturday. This report claims Ziyech wants to play for the Reds, while Jurgen Klopp has also been credited with €20 million interest in the PSV man.
And through their excellent performances this weekend, both have shown scouts the qualities they could bring to Liverpool. Operating on the right of a supporting three, Ziyech scored the second goal of the game for Ajax and was the second best player on the park.

That goal was the 25-year-old’s fifth of the season, which fits nicely alongside his three assists in just nine league goals.
Bergwijn started on the left – and was the reason why Gastón Pereiro hit the back of the net in the 12 minute. The 21-year-old has had an outstanding campaign and has four goals and five assists in his nine Eredivisie outings.
On this occasion, he was outplayed by Mexican Herving Lozano (who assisted two and scored one). But nothing can take away from the fact that the PSV academy graduate is building on his breakthrough campaign last season and interest will only keep growing in him.
As a side-note, Lozano has attracted interest from some of the biggest clubs in the world and the 23-year-old now has eight goals this season already. Liverpool may be looking at Ziyech and Bergwijn, but surely the Mexican can’t have escaped their attention either.
Last season nobody would have thought Liverpool really needed more attackers, but they’ve looked a touch flat this campaign and perhaps one more addition would be welcome.
