Xherdan Shaqiri fit for Manchester City clash
Liverpool man Xherdan Shaqiri is fit for Man City.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was giving an injury update ahead of Thursday’s clash, and Sean Bradbury wrote in the Echo that there was some good news.
Xherdan Shaqiri hasn’t featured for the Reds since January, and was missing from the draw against Everton and the wonderful win over a static and imagination-devoid Crystal Palace.
After impressing in fits and spurts last season, we thought the Powercube might be able to kick on and improve in 2019/2020.
However, his whole campaign has been snatched from under him by repeated injuries, but this might be his chance to get on the field.
Klopp delivered some injury news ahead of Thursday, and said that there were no problems apart from Joel Matip.
Matip won’t be available for the rest of the season, but Shaqiri wasn’t named as one of those with any injury problems.

Klopp spoke about the club’s injury news, saying there were no new updates to give apart from Matip.
"He said: “The one with Joel [Matip] you know. That’s not nice. But that is all for the moment.”"
That means we could see the Switzerland international on the bench on Thursday, and perhaps even make the field. He’s played just 174 minutes of Premier League football this season and 256 in all competitions.
In total Shaq has featured 40 times for Liverpool across his two seasons, and while we all expected him to leave at the end of this campaign that might not happen now.
COVID-19 has wiped the bottom out of the transfer market, and Reds sporting director Michael Edwards might be forced to hang on to some players while clubs recover financially.
Shaqiri could be one of those, Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic others.
Will we see him against City? You’d imagine that Klopp will pick his full strength front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah while Harvey Elliott and Takumi Minamino will play a substitute role.
But Shaqiri could still see some happy times before this unhappy season ends.
