Two Liverpool transfer targets have been named in the 50 best wonderkids for 2019 in the NxGn list produce by Goal.

Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali and Fulham left-back/forward Ryan Sessegnon have been included on the list.

The Reds have been linked with both teenagers at various points during the year, and interesting they share something in common: a grounding in the lower leagues.

Back in January it was reported that Tonali’s chairman admitted interest in his player was coming from Liverpool and it has been said that Sess want to move to Anfield.

Tonali plays for Brescia in the Serie B, while Sessegnon first hit headlines for his performances in the Championship last season.

The Italian has already been called up by his country, and while Fulham’s talent will have to wait a little longer to be given the same honour, there is no doubt that he’ll eventually wear the three lions on his shirt.

Jurgen Klopp is an excellent developer of talent and is keen to give youth a go. When Alberto Moreno leaves Liverpool at the end of his contract there will be a space place for an attacking left-back, but questions have to be asked about Sessegnon’s defensive abilities.

Still, Klopp wants his full-backs to be good attackers as well and if work could be done with the Fulham lad there is no reason why it wouldn’t be a good signing.

Tonali is a different kettle of fish entirely. The Reds are blessed with a strong midfield and plenty of options – and next season it’ll be even more congested.

Marko Grujic is sure to come back from Hertha Berlin with a fire in his belly and some glowing references, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will have plenty to prove to himself and others after recovering from a horrific knee injury.
